Annual Charitable Foundation giving totals more than $1.6 million in 2024.
(West Warwick, RI) December 9, 2024 – The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation is proud to announce that it awarded $247,000 in grants to 19 nonprofit organizations across Rhode Island and Connecticut in its most recent quarter of giving. This funding supports a variety of community programs that align with the Foundation’s mission to strengthen local communities through targeted charitable investments.
This quarter’s recipients include the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket in Rhode Island, whose Out-of-School Time Program provides critical resources and support for youth and Access Community Action Agency in Connecticut, a nonprofit working to help improve the quality of life for individuals and families in northeastern Connecticut.
Kathleen Krider, Senior Director, Community Engagement, Access Agency noted, “With this grant from the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation, Access will develop a rapid re-housing program for ten domestic violence survivors that focuses on participant strengths and highlights them as part of the recovery process. Additionally, we will create opportunities for participants to have a voice about their experiences, to empower and inform others, create change, and make them stakeholders in their own communities. We want to thank Centreville Bank for recognizing the importance of this work in the community.”
The Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket is also a grant recipient and its director of development and communications, Amy Gonsalves, shared, “We are so thankful for the continued support of Centreville Bank. This generous funding enables us to continue providing enriching opportunities for the 3,700+ youth we serve each year at our clubhouse. Thanks to this year’s grant, we’re able to expand access to our Out-of-School Time Programs, ensuring that young people from Pawtucket, Central Falls, and the surrounding neighborhoods have a safe space to grow, learn, and have fun.”
“Centreville Bank is deeply committed to the communities we serve, and through the Charitable Foundation, we strive to support organizations that make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families,” said Hal Horvat, President and CEO of Centreville Bank. “We are proud to partner with organizations like Access Community Action Agency and the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket to create lasting impact.”
In 2024, the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation awarded a total of $1.6 million to more than 100 nonprofit organizations, reaffirming the Bank’s dedication to fostering economic empowerment, education, and community enrichment across the region.
