Applications Open for 5th Annual Centreville Bank Robert O. Pare College Scholarship
Two $5,000 scholarships available to graduating seniors in Rhode Island and Connecticut; applications due by April 10, 2023
(WEST WARWICK, R.I.) February 22, 2023 – Centreville Bank is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its 5th annual Robert O. Pare College Scholarship program. The scholarship is open to 2023 graduating seniors in Rhode Island and Connecticut who are dedicated to making a difference through community service. Two recipients will be selected and awarded $5,000 each. The deadline for applications is April 10, 2023. Electronic applications can be completed here.
Established in 2018, the scholarship is offered through the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation in honor of Robert O. Pare, who served the bank with distinction for 55 years and played a vital role in its growth and success during that time.
Scholarships are awarded to students who have a demonstrated active commitment to their community. In addition, applicants must be a Rhode Island or Connecticut high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA and be accepted to a college or university, a community college or trade school undergraduate program for the fall semester following graduation.
Applicants must complete a scholarship application form including a detailed list of volunteer and community activities and a 500-word essay. They must provide an official high school transcript and two letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, volunteer organization or employer. Completed applications and corresponding materials are due by April 10, 2023.
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, and finalists will be presented to the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation Board before May 31, 2023, for approval. Recipients will be notified by June 1, 2023.
