West Warwick, R.I., May 19, 2017 – Centreville Bank announces that Harold M. ‘Hal’ Horvat, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending & Retail Officer, is the recipient of the 2017 Michael E. Wiggins Leadership Award from FRIENDS WAY. The Warwick-based nonprofit, founded in 1998, serves grieving children and their families. Horvat received the award at FRIENDS WAY’s “Diamonds in the Sky” gala on April 28.
"We are honored to present Hal with this year’s Michael E. Wiggins Award,” said Susan Stevenson, executive director of FRIENDS WAY. “For more than 10 years, Hal has been a facilitator in our groups, showing his quiet compassion and understanding of the children’s bereavement process. And, in January, he further demonstrated his dedication to our mission by joining our board of directors.”
Horvat, a resident of Cranston, is also a board member of The Business Development Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island and an M.B.A. from Bryant University.
